Foliage

The foliage of the "Hobbit's Pipe" is a favorite among J.R.R Tolkien fans, due to the unusual shape of its leaves. The small, shrubby, pipe resemblant leaves look as if they've come from another world. 

Height

On average, these plants grow to be 3 feet tall.

Toxicity

These plants are mildly toxic to humans and pets, and should never be ingested under any circumstances.

CARE GUIDE

  • Light
    • This plant prefers bright, direct sunlight. If placing indoors, a southern facing window is optimal.
  • Water
    • Regularly water the plant, allowing it to dry out before proceeding to water again. 
  • Temperature
    • Anything between  60° F to 75° is optimal, the warmer the better. 
  • Humidity
    • Medium to high levels of humidity allow this plant to thrive
  • Soil
    • Rich, bark/peat based soils that are lightweight are optimal. It should be able to retain moisture, but not hold water.
  • Fertilizer
    • Give a water-soluble fertilizer twice a month from April to August.
  • Re-potting
    • When the roots appear to have filled the bottom of the pot, it is time to upgrade.
