Foliage

The foliage of the Black Goldfish are dark, green ovals that contrast strongly with it's flowers. While an ordinary Goldfish Plant's leaves are bright green, those of the Black Goldfish are of a deeper, richer complexion.

Height

On average, these plants grow to be 3 feet tall.

Toxicity

These plants are non-toxic.

CARE GUIDE

  • Light
    • This plant prefers bright, indirect sunlight. If placing indoors, a southern facing window is optimal.
  • Water
    • Regularly water the plant during the summer, keeping thew top inch of soil moist at all times. During winter, cut back and allow the soil to dry out a little. Never let it dry out completely. 
  • Temperature
    • Anything between  60° F to 75° is optimal, the warmer the better. 
  • Humidity
    • Medium to high levels of humidity allow this plant to thrive
  • Soil
    • Coarse sphagnum moss or a combination of moss, perlite, and vermiculite in equal quantities. 
  • Fertilizer
    • Give a diluted liquid fertilizer during the growth season.
  • Re-potting
    • Every 2-3 years, and only one pot size up.
